The new series Amapolas continues this line of inquiry from a radically different scale: the microscopic within the landscape.
At different moments in his work, the artist has observed physical and temporal processes and translated them into visual language. In Las Lunas, an investigation into gravity, matter, and the expansion of paint generated circular surfaces that evoke geological formations. In Un día a la vez, the focus shifted toward the movement of the sun and the variations of light across the territory of the Highlands of Chiapas, registering time as a perceptual phenomenon.
